We enjoyed our evening as a family. We had a large charcuterie plate and I had the gastroburger which was really good. My daughter had fish and chips, husband had gastroburger as well. Service was great and food was great as well. It is hard to open a new restaurant, but I think the concept is perfect for Monroe and I am excited that we have a new option in addition to our other great choices here.

Edit: revisit 5/3/24. Much improved! The food was immensely better. Had new brussel sprouts, meatball and grits, strawberry salad w chicken and crab cakes. We will be back and thank you for the menu revamp! (Prior visit) We REALLY want Haynes to improve, we don’t want to deal with Waxhaw traffic to get a good meal or drive an hour to Charlotte. We were so excited to visit as we need a better food option in Monroe. After two visits it’s clear that they are not trying very hard to deliver on the term Gastropub. Burger is subpar, tastes like frozen meat, asked for medium but cooked well done. (15 is the going rate for an excellent burger, this does not deliver) Fries are terrible, they sound good on the menu but have no flavor. Hard pass on the flavorless Chicken sandwich. Fish and chips was ok, though sub the fires for anything else. (The wait staff is embarrassed about the food when they check on you and basically avoid any conversation about how it tastes) The only thing we enjoyed were the brussel sprouts which were very good. Beer selection poor, i think they have 4 on draft....I had the Manhattan twice, it tastes watered down. Wine selection is fine, it covers the bases, but East Frank has a more interesting selection. Ketchup packets, plastic ramekins, salt and pepper packets, really? It looks cool inside but the lights need to dim for a more cozy atmosphere. PLEASE: hire someone to revamp the menu and train the kitchen, hire a bar manager that can craft a cocktail, hire a floor manager that pays attention to the guests and takes action when the customer is not happy. Do better asap, you are not going to make it!

Downtown Monroe has several nice restaurants but this is definitely my “go to” This has been my one or maybe two visits each week place to go to dine. From the manager to the waiters and the very skilled bartenders, they all are phenomenal. Great atmosphere and attitudes! I’m a vegetarian, so they have options for me to enjoy and they are delicious. oh more thing, I’m big on diversity.. so walking in and seeing people of all backgrounds is pure LOVE!

I have to say so glad we gave this place a second chance! It was awesome from the moment we sat down. Super cute atmosphere, loved sitting out by the street . Our service was fantastic, just when i had just said to someone , restaurants just don’t have good servers anymore. Our server was Reagan. Thank you Reagan ! The food and drinks were great ! The menu has changed and there is so much more now . Highly recommended giving this place a try ! Or come again if you didn’t have the best experience. I’m so happy we did ! Definitely will be here often .

Absolutely phenomenal, I’m not hard to impress but I also don’t over exaggerated anything and when I say I was blown away I legitimately mean it. This is such a little hidden gem. Wait staff was great! He was very professional and did an amazing job staying on top of things. I ordered a dip trip GF and it came out ahead of our main courses as it should with enough time to work through it before our main courses got to us. I ordered the flank steak and it was phenomenal, great flavor, great cut, and great temp! My fiance got the seared salmon and it was delicious as well. Definitely recommend checking out this place, this is my first time in and we will definitely be back. Ohh i forgot to mention the drinks are great ask well I got a Arnold Palmer whitest trying to make a decision on drinks and it was great, I ended up getting a dark and stormy and it was good as well.

Came in on Sunday and was very pleased by my experience here! The Dark & Stormy is a must try drink and they have an amazing selection of cocktails depending on what your taste is. This place has a lot of potential and will definitely become a go to spot for me and friends!

This is exactly what Monroe needed! A delicious menu that isn't predominantly sandwiches (only one), an extensive wine, beer and cocktail list, a wonderful atmosphere in a large space (with a large waiting area with service for drinks while you wait), and a competent staff and great owners who are "hands on" with running it. Everything we've tried is absolutely delicious. We plan to make this place one we regularly visit!

I came here with my family for dinner, service was great! Our waitress was the only waitress this night for probably 6 tables, she was hustling the entire time. The bartenders are great and friendly as well. There was an older gentleman filling ketchup containers who wasn’t as friendly but other than him the dinner was fabulous! Dinner for 6 was 175 not including tip so fairly expensive!!
